At the beginning of this month, I done something I haven’t been able to do in over TEN years – I got on a plane. Yep I finally did it and got to see another part of the world, this time it was Edinburgh and Scotland. The best week was had exploring and driving around Scotland with Eoghan.

Our day started off wandering the streets of Edinburgh. It was only about nine o’clock when we dropped our bags in the hotel. It was great, the sun was shining and it was a Sunday. We got to see the city before it woke up. So glad we got to see the streets of such a normally bustling place, so quiet.

Victoria Street was just as charming as I’d hoped. Oozing with character – A curved cobbled street with the most lively colourful shops.

You bet we stopped for some photos. Although this is Eoghan’s typical face for when I take photos. To be fair it’s actually similar to my go-to face, I just don’t post those photos cuz lets be real, they’re hideous, no one needs to see those haha.

Couldn’t go to Edinburgh and not see the castle. We walked up the steps – SO MANY STEPS – and reached the front of the castle heaving, well I was ha. Travelling on a budget isn’t fun so we didn’t pay to go inside, although I think we saw the best part, the castle itself. I’ve heard since it’s not great inside so I’m so glad we just had a look outside. Winning! The views of the city from up there were cool too.camera obscura, museum, edinburgh, illusions, scotland, tourist attraction edinburgh camera obscura, museum, edinburgh, illusions, scotland, tourist attraction edinburgh, pink bench

These next two photos make me so happy haha.

The Camera Obscura museum was so fun. It was nice to get out of the cold too haha. It was something a little different and the views from the rooftop were awesomeee. They had a really cool Nikon binoculars thing so you could see all around. We were trying to spy on people in the nearby houses ha. There  was  such  a good  view  of  the  castle  from  up  there  too!

Afterwards we made our way back to the hotel. Taking in the streets as we went. So grateful we got a dry sunny day. It was sooo cold though, so was relieved to get back to the warmth of the hotel.

We stayed in the Leonardo Royal hotel. It was great, have a post coming on that soon. We planned on taking a short nap and getting up again. What actually happened was we fell asleep for four hours and it was so late we just went for food and back to bed again – oops!

Look at that pose!

Absolutely loved Edinburgh Day 2&3, and 4 &5 are coming soon, they’ll be in my travel and photodiary section of the blog! I’ve really had to divide it up because I took over 1000 photos – SO. MUCH. EDITING!!

All the photos of me were taken by Eoghan by the way, you can see his site here.

I hope you liked the photos! If you did, you can subscribe to my email list to be notified of any new posts I put up. You can find it at the bottom of my homepage!

Thanks for taking the time to read! Until the next post,

Tinyboots 🙂
