We woke up nice and refreshed in Edinburgh. We had some time to kill before going to collect our CAMPERVAN!! Time for another little wander. We went to Dean Village. It was something I’d wanted to do so bad. Seen pictures online and it looked so picturesque and magestical! And .. it was!
It’s so quiet there. You’d have no idea you’re in such a busy city. When Dean Village first began, hundreds and hundreds of years ago, it wasn’t actually in Edinburgh, because the city hadn’t spread that far. It’s been preserved so well and walking down the cobbled streets, you feel like you’ve been transported back to Medieval time! It’s a little bit of a walk from the city centre – but what harm! On a nice day it only means you’ll see more of Edinburgh, and it really is worth the visit.
We were sooo lucky with the weather. The forecast said rain but we got to walk around in the sunshine. It was absolutely freeeezing but that was okay! We started to feel numb so after some more pictures we headed for breakfast. If you’re goin to Edinburgh any time soon, make sure you visit Dean Village!! It was probably my favourite part of Edinburgh
There was soooo many love locks around Edinburgh, and the rest of Scotland. Some people had gone so far as to get them engraved beforehand, such commitment haha. Were these all inspired by the Pont des Arts in paris or was this always a thing?!
After breakfast we walked around and then it was time to collect our van. We spent the night driving west towards the Isle of Sky and didn’t stop until it was time to sleep. I am so excited to post the photos from that next!
