Eoghan and I love our activity packed weekends and this was just one of those. We decided to stick around Galway. I’ve been recommended to go to Brigit’s garden a few times. It is actually just a short drive from where we live so we decided to head there and see what it was like.
Brigit’s Garden is all about Irish mythology and heritage. The garden brings you through several areas bringing you through the Celtic cycle of the seasons. And there is a lovely walk through the woods. The place is truly unique and a great choice for a family day out.
Got that instagram shot!
When we go anywhere we are literally big children so we couldn’t pass up the chance to make a wish at the wishing trees. This area was so bloody cute
I hope it’s not bad luck to share this. I glimpsed this on the tree and it thought it was the sweetest thing. Hope this kid’s wish came true!
We spent a couple of hours wandering through the grounds. Luckily the weather was on our side too!
The wooded area was so magical looking. You’d be almost expecting to see fairies zooming around.
I thought this was so cool. Imagine how different the landscape in Ireland looked 15,000 years ago. It’s something you never think about.
We agreed that this would be the perfect day out for those with young kids. I know when I was little I would have absolutely loved it there. If you’re looking for a family day out, somewhere your kids to enjoy the outdoors and interact with nature, Brigit’s Garden is a great place to go, and only a 20 minute drive from Galway city.
